Christmas in Ravenna

CHRISTMAS IN RAVENNA is lightened up with colours thanks to a rich schedule of events dedicated to the magic festive season.

In the lightened up streets of the city center, you will also find the traditional Christmas markets, while the main square, Piazza del Popolo, will turn into a real Christmas village around the fascinating tree offered by Andalo, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region.

In the nearby Piazza Kennedy a large ice rink will welcome children of all ages, while Piazza San Francesco will be the location of the traditional Christmas Village hosted by the ADVS (association of blood donors) volunteers, ensuring fun activities for the whole holiday season.

The churches around the city are embellished with nativity scenes and the streets shine with a ceiling of golden stars. You will have the possibility to stroll around the city, admire the Unesco World Heritage Monuments or simply walk among the decorated shop windows.

Various concerts, shows and art exhibitions will take place during the whole festive season, livening up every corner of the historical centre. For a more interesting stay in the city, you will also have the possibility to take part in one of the many guided tours.

A crescendo of entertainment and enjoyable events that will lead us to NEW YEAR’S DAY, when with the music of Christmas Soul we will be ready to welcome the new year with a smile and a strong feeling of hope.

From 9th to 24th December, all paid parking areas (defined by blue lines) managed by Azimut on behalf of the Municipality are free of charge from 4.30 pm, except from the one in Piazza Baracca, free of charge from 6.30 pm.
