From 29th August to 6th September 2026, as part of the Theodoric Celebrations, the Mausoleum of Theodoric will host an evocative spectacle of light and music entitled VISIONI DI ETERNO – TEODORICO IL GRANDE.
The project, conceived by the artist Andrea Bernabini, transforms Theodoric’s Mausoleum into an immersive experience of light, sound and storytelling, turning it, for the occasion, into a living, pulsating canvas of moving images.
Through architectural video mapping and a sophisticated sound system, the Istrian stone of the Mausoleum comes to life and is transformed: a helmet, a crown, gleaming armour, jewelled crosses, mosaics and warrior figures emerge and fade away in a visual narrative that weaves together power, spirituality and memory.
The rhythmic sequence of deep niches and monumental forms is enhanced by captivating graphics that alternate between solid and void, light and shadow, evoking the grandeur and complexity of the sovereign.
