Due to restoration works, Risorgimento Museum is closed.
It will open soon in a new location – Palazzo Guiccioli.

Once housed in the Church of San Romualdo, the RISORGIMENTO MUSEUM is located today in Palazzo Guiccioli (Via Cavour), right in the heart of the city.

The museum displays a collection of relics dating back to the Risorgimento period offered by the citizens of Ravenna, who were actively involved in the wars of independence.

Part of the collection are weapons, uniforms, pictures, paintings, personal letters and documents – some of which were saved by local history scholars as Primo Uccellini and Silvio Bernicoli.

The “historical” collection was then expanded with other donations, such as the important Guerrini legacy that enriched the Risorgimento heritage of the city.

The museum thus represents the path between different historical and consecutive moments and a place for the memory of the big events of the Risorgimento as well as the common everyday issues of citizens and soldiers that died defending freedom and national unity.
