From September 4th to October 6th 2024, the Via Zirardini Open-Air Gallery will host RAVENNA CELEBRA DANTE. L’ANNUALE DELLA MORTE DEL POETA, a photographic exhibition chronicling the highlights of the customary celebrations.
This exhibition becomes an opportunity to show citizens a series of shots taken by photographer Marco Parollo and the Classense Library during the Annual of Dante Alighieri’s death over the past five years.
A particularly heartfelt moment is the Cerimonia dell’Olio, donated by the City of Florence: the poet’s entire history is encapsulated in this gathering.
The urban itinerary of the procession is punctuated with poetry, verses and choruses thanks to the collaboration with Teatro delle Albe, which, on the basis of the extraordinary project carried out on commission by Ravenna Festival, Cantiere Dante, has elaborated in recent years a sort of sacred representation.
