Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui is an artist, who is especially appreciated for his surprising, and distupting collaborations, with which he has researched and intrigued worldwide. Now, he is the artistic director of the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, without betraying that forward-thinking that has always marked the company.
For the triptych taking place on 10 July at the Mauro de Andrè arena, the Swedish choreographer Johan Inger will hit the spotlight B.R.I.S.A., and a set of eccentric variations on the theme of wind, followed by the well-established Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite with her Ten Duets – and the subject “rescue”. Finally, Cherkaoui’s own Faun, a duet modelled on Nijinski’s choreography for L’après midi d’un faune, will close the soirée with an extraordinary intimate lyricism
