Saturday 11th May at Pala de André the new edition of Ravenna Festival inaugurates with the WIENER PHILHARMONIKER AND RICCARDO MUTI on the podium, for a special opening concert of the 35th edition.
In the name of the long-time friendship between Riccardo Muti and the legendary Vienna Philharmonic, the event is now an excercise of style and a moment of sharing and culture contributing to the diffusion of the European musical heritage.
The programme of the concert features Symphony No. 35 in D major K. 385 “Haffner” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – composed as a serenade commissioned by the Haffner family from Salzburg – and Symphony No. 9 in C major D. 944 – Die Größe by Franz Schubert, dotted with various different themes and with a reference to the Ode to Joy paying homage to Beethoven in the last movement.
