Six years after the first time, Ravenna turns once again into CELLOLANDIA: a project born 10 years ago, curated by Giovanni Sollima and Enrico Melozzi and so well integrated in the Festival, that it seems to have always been there.
Taking place over a long weekend, the event focuses on the monumental 100 Cellos orchestra, which – after becoming extremely successful from Tokyo to Dubai – will touch many locations of the city, theatres, palaces, cloisters and century-old basilicas, riding the sound waves that only a battalion of bright and soul-seducing instruments can produce.
From the sacred improvisations in the presence of celestial mosaic to the progressive rock of the legendary Premiata Forneria Marconi – 50 years after Storia di un minuto, the first album of the group, that was able to combine the power of rock with classical style – sent into orbit by the propulsion of a hundred cellos.
