As part of the Ravenna Festival program, on June 15th the Pala de André will host ANOHNI AND THE JOHNSONS, stage name of Anohni Hegarty, a voice that encompasses “all the emotions on the planet,” as Diamanda Galas has said of her.
Anohni has chosen Ravenna as the only Italian stop on her European tour, where she will perform songs from her new My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross (named album of the year by the New Yorker) and other songs from her repertoire, joined by a 9-piece band including Julia Kent (cello), Maxim Moston (violin), Doug Wieselman (multi-instrumentalist) and Jimmy Hogarth (guitarist/producer).
The artist offers a personal take on baroque pop music, wrapped in shadows that over the years have adapted to both the most experimental electronica and the most elegant modern-soul.
