From June 15th to July 13th, in the frame of the 3rd edition of Coconino Fest, the Classense Library hosts the original drawings of VIAGGIO IN ITALIA, Pietro Scarnera‘s new graphic novel.
Starting from texts, diaries, letters and historical documents, Scarnera tells the Grand Tour of foreign writers and artists that visited Italy, from Goethe to Stendhal, through Lord Byron, Percy and Mary Shelley and many others, intertwining their testimonies of the past to his personal experiences around Italy. A multifaceted and thrilling portrait of the “character” and nature of Italy, with its wonders and miseries.
In the spaces of the library, Scarnera’s drawings dialogue with the documents and books written by great writers, with a special homage to the city of Ravenna as it was visited and told by Byron.
