On the occasion of the Biennial of Contemporary Mosaics, from 18th October 2025 to 18th January 2026, the public art installation by NICOLA MONTALBINI – IL PAVIMENTO will be on display.
Curated by Daniele Torcellini and Eleonora Savorelli, it is a work conceived for Porta Adriana, imagined and created by Nicola Montalbini, in collaboration with Marco Santi’s Gruppo Mosaicisti Ravenna, the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna and organised by marte.
Il pavimento is both a physical passageway and a journey through time and the memories of the city. A living mosaic, inhabited by monsters and monsters, creatures that come from memories, readings, ghosts of the past, direct references to ancient mosaics, and fantasies about the future. A collection of fragments that are reconstituted into a whole in the mosaic.
