From 1st March to 3rd May 2026, the MAR – Ravenna Art Museum, will host MATTIA MORENI. DALLA REGRESSIONE DELLA SPECIE ALL’UMANOIDE, an unmissable exhibition dedicated to one of the most radical artists of the second half of the 20th century in Italy.
The exhibition, curated by Serena Simoni, concludes a large-scale project dedicated to the artist entitled Dalla formazione a “L’ultimo sussulto prima della grande mutazione”, who has already been featured in museums in Bagnacavallo, Forlì, Santa Sofia and Bologna, with Claudio Spadoni as curator.
On display are around thirty major works from the last twenty years of the artist’s career, divided into two cycles, Regressione della Specie and Umanoidi, which inspire reflection on the decline of man and the arts in the contemporary era: undisciplined geometries, objects, robots and humanoids convey the artist’s restless and prophetic vision of modernity.
There is also a third documentary section with photographs and archive material in a powerful and topical exhibition that invites reflection on the fate of man and the arts in the contemporary world.
