On the occasion of the seven-hundredth anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death, Ravenna celebrates the Father of the Italian language with the project DANTE GLI OCCHI E LA MENTE, structured intro three different exhibitions.
In this hard period for the Italian culture, the Mar – Ravenna Art Museum, with the collaboration of the Classense Library and the Municipal Department of Culture, presents an online platform with three VIRTUAL TOURS dedicated to this wide exhibition project that will be working for the entire duration of 2021 Dante Celebrations.

It is an itinerary of historical records curated by Benedetto Gugliotta, head of the Classense Library promotion office. Through books, posters, photos, paintings, manuscripts, the exhibition recalls the 6th centenary of Dante’s death occurred in 1921, in the presence of Benedetto Croce, then Minister of Public Education.
Le Arti al Tempo dell’Esilio
On display from 24 April to 4 July 2021 at the Church of San Romualdo in Ravenna.

The exhibition’s scientific purpose is to show the cultural and artistic cross section of Dante’s time, comparing painting and sculpture with illumination, goldsmithing and weaving.
