From Thursday June 20th to Saturday July 20th, the exhibition spaces of Palazzo Rasponi2 (PR2) are hosting an exhibition entitled ALONG THE BORDER by photographer Chiara Fabbro.
Chiara is a young italian documentary photographer, now in London, who has received major international awards.
Her work on human rights has taken her to the abandoned buildings of the Balkans where migrants remain stranded as they attempt to reach Europe; to the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where those who have fled conflict and persecution live in limbo; to the beaches of the Canary Islands, a destination for thousands of people who brave the waters of the Atlantic Ocean each year, one of the most dangerous migration journey on the planet.
In this exhibition Chiara documents, with deep humanity, what is still happening along the Balkan route to thousands of migrants: the collective and chain rejections, the living conditions of the people, the dramatic stories about this dangerous journey.
The exhibition, which opens on World Refugee Day, serves as an in-depth look within the Festival of Cultures, at how human rights protection along the European Union’s eastern borders is changing.
