From Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 October 2026, Piazza J.F. Kennedy will host the second edition of CAPLÈT & FRIENDS – LA FESTA DEL CAPPELLETTO E DEI SAPORI ROMAGNOLI, a gastronomic and culinary culture event centred on the most distinctive product of Romagna’s cuisine, whilst also celebrating typical local dishes and the region’s finest food and drink.
The historic centre will be transformed into one huge food festival, with the public taking centre stage on this journey of discovery through the extraordinary wealth of Italian agri-food production.
The 2026 edition forms part of the programme of celebrations marking the 1,500th anniversary of Theodoric, featuring a brand-new project that combines history, culture and gastronomy.
For the occasion, “Cappelletto Teo. Un piatto da Re” has been created: a tribute that Caplèt & Friends are dedicating to Theodoric through an original recipe by chef Mattia Borroni, inspired by Ravenna’s historical heritage and reinterpreted with a contemporary twist.
The new cappelletto will take centre stage at the event and will be served both during the dedicated events and at the festival’s food stalls, where the six participating local restaurants will offer their own interpretation of the dish.
A preview and presentation of the event will take place on Wednesday 9 September at the Classis Museum at 11.00.

GUIDED TOURS
New to this year’s event are special afternoon tours – on foot and aboard the Teo train – dedicated to the sites associated with Theodoric. The itineraries will take participants on a journey of discovery through the city’s main Theodoric-era sites, concluding in Piazza Kennedy, where, in collaboration with RavennAntica, there will be a presentation on court life at the Gothic king’s court, Theodoric’s famous ‘little treasure’ housed at the Classis Museum, and the precious royal spoon forged with Theodoric’s monogram.

A tour aboard the Trenino Teo, with an audio guide available in Italian and English, with no stops. The tour departs from Piazza Kennedy, passes near the Palace of Theodoric, Sant’Apollinare Nuovo and the Mausoleum of Theodoric, before returning to the starting point.
