From 11th October 2026 to 10th January 2027, the stately rooms of Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste in Ravenna will host a major solo exhibition by MARCANTONIO. COSA VUOI FARE DA PICCOLO?, one of Italy’s best-known artists and designers, who trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna.
Curated by Paride Vitale and Nicolas Ballario, the exhibition offers an immersive journey through over 50 works, installations and design objects that illustrate the artist’s creative 20 years of exploration and his personal way of transforming matter into narrative: from his early sculptural works to his most recent large-scale sculptures and his famous industrial design pieces.
In his works, the function of the object gives way to the imagination: animals, plants, natural elements and everyday forms are transformed into surprising presences, suspended between reality and dream.
Across 400 square metres of exhibition space, frescoes, period decorations and architectural details interact with artworks, installations and design objects, linking the contemporary nature of Marcantonio’s work with the history of the palace.
The artist’s return to Ravenna, the city where he trained, thus takes on a special significance and offers the public a body of work that has matured over the years and gained international recognition.
Artist’s biography
Born in 1976, he’s an artist known for his innovative, sculptural approach to design. After attending the Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna, he began his career as a set designer and sculptor.
Since 2001, he has devoted himself to art and design, developing a distinctive style that combines aesthetics and storytelling
