Through the Footprints project Ravenna is designing a new way of welcoming visitors: simpler, more accessible and more sustainable.
The project aims to create an integrated system in which sustainable mobility becomes the easiest and most natural choice for exploring the city and its surroundings. Visitors arriving in Ravenna will be able to get around easily, leaving their cars or tourist buses outside the most sensitive areas – as the historical centre, Parco Marittimo and the natural areas – and continuing their yourney on foot, by bike, wheelchair or electric transport.
The WELCOME HUBS are the destination’s new access and welcome points – places designed as true gateways to the city, where visitors can begin their experience, find information, plan how to get around, and discover itineraries and services.
The system includes 3 main welcome hubs: in the city centre; at the gateway to the Parco Marittimo in Marina di Ravenna; and close to the natural areas around Sant’Alberto.
Through accessible tours, planning tools, walking and cycling options, and better integration with the public transport, the Welcome Hubs make it easier to experience Ravenna at a slower, more mindful and sustainable pace. At the same time, they help reduce traffic in the most sensitive areas and improve the quality of the experience for both visitors and residents.
WELCOME HUB – PARCO MARITTIMO
Reach Parco Marittimo and the beaches of Ravenna by bike from the parking in via Trieste.

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: from 8 am to 2 pm and from 3.30 pm to 7 pm
Bike rental and minor repairs (booking recommended).
Throughout August, you can hire a classic bicycle for the whole day for €3
A deposit of €30 in cash is required to hire classic bicycles; this will be refunded in full when the bicycle is returned.
Electric bicycles are available by reservation.
