On the occasion of the Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic, from 18th October 2025 to 18th January 2026, visitors to the Arian Baptistery can admire the site-specific installation VERSO L’ALTO, VERSO LA TERRA: SGUARDO AL FIRMAMENTO – ISMAELE NONES PER GRUPPO MOSAICISTI, curated by Anna Caterino.
Ismaele Nones offers a profound and original encounter between memory and contemporaneity.
His paintings are presented as humanised icons, crossed by a profane cut that does not desecrate but re-actualises. Part of the exhibition project is the artist’s cardboard mosaic work, created by the Ravenna Mosaicists Group, which will mark a profound turning point in his career.
