On the occasion of the 9th Biennial of Contemporary Mosaics, from 18th October 2025 to 18th January 2026, the National Archaeological Museum of Ravenna will host the exhibition IMMAGINOSE RAPPRESENTAZIONI – CONTAMINAZIONI TRA ACCADEMIA DI BELLE ARTI E MUSEO NAZIONALE.
Curated by Sabina Ghinassi and Eleonora Savorelli, forty works by young artists from the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna interact with the spaces and multiple presences of the National Museum.
The mosaic language of the latest generation of mosaic artists, born or trained in Ravenna, opens up to a free and “imaginative” relationship with the traces of the past, identifying dystopian cartographies, amazing creatures and poignant sentimental polyphonies, which intertwine with works from the museum’s permanent collection to reconstruct an otherworldly, magical and disturbing imaginary world.
