From 20th to 26th October, Ravenna hosts RAVENNA NIGHTMARE FILM FEST, the festival dedicated to the dark side of cinema, one of the longest-running and most renowned events on the Italian scene dedicated to genre cinema.
Now at its 23rd edition, the event continues its artistic journey through more and more different styles, genres and inclusivity, between international films, independent works and moments of cultural exploration.
Unmissable appointment for all those who love the “dark side” of the seventh art in its various shades, the festival will once more give space to those who made the history of this genre and to those who are making it right now, through screenings, masterclasses, meetings and educational activities.
A window on the world of genre cinema that does not forget local talents and the new generations, thanks to project like Visioni Fantastiche.
To mark the centenary of The Phantom of the Opera (1925), the festival opens with a unique screening at the Alighieri Theatre: Rupert Julian’s silent masterpiece will be accompanied live by a 40-piece symphony orchestra, conducted by Damiano Ferretti, with an original soundtrack composed by students from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Ravenna.
