Guided tours to discover the nature of the Po Delta Park
Dates: Sunday, 6th April – Sunday, 18th May 2014

 

ITINERARY 1 – ‘In valle dove l’occhio si perde’ 
(NatuRa Museum – Comacchio Valleys – Boscoforte Peninsula – Guiccioli Farm)
Dates: Saturday, 12th April; Friday, 25th April; Saturday, 3rd May; Saturday, 17th May | 2.30pm

• Ways to participate: by minibus or by bike. 
• Length of the trail by bike: 11 km. 
• Difficulty: medium.

The itinerary includes a guided tour to NatuRa Museum – the Natural Science Museum of Ravenna – and to its precious ornithological collection “Alfredo Brandolini”; a bicycle ride over the bank of the Reno river with a breathtaking view of the southern Comacchio Valleys and inside the Boscoforte peninsula, a small territory inhabited by various bird species like flamingos, waders and ducks, and finally a bus transfer to Fattoria Guiccioli (Guiccioli Farm), that was the scene of well-known events related to Garibaldi’s movements through Romagna and to the death of Anita Garibaldi. The tour concludes with a tasting of local products.
Useful Information: it is recommended to wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, a hat and comfortable sober clothes and bring along a bottle of water.

 

ITINERARY 2 – ‘Aperitivo tra terra e mare’ 
(Punte Alberete – San Vitale Pinewood) 
Dates: Sunday, 13th April | 9.30am; Saturday, 26th April | 2.30pm; Sunday, 4th May; Sunday, 18th May | 9.30am

• Ways to participate: by minibus or on foot. 
• Length of the walking routes: the circular route in Punte Alberete is about 3,5 km; the round path in San Vitale Pinewood is about 5 km. 
• Difficulty: easy.

The second itinerary consists of a guided tour through Punte Alberete, a beautiful flooded forest and one of the rare hydric forests in the Po Delta area; a trip to the ancient Pinewood of San Vitale, from Ca’ Vecchia to Ca’ Buratelli, that looks over Pialassa Baiona. On the backdrop of the lagoon, the participants can taste the typical products and dishes of the local tradition.
Useful Information: it is recommended to wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, a hat, comfortable sober clothes and to bring along a bottle of water.


ITINERARY 3 – ‘In barca con Garibaldi’ 
(Garibaldi Hut – Pialassa Baiona – Spinaroni Islet)
Dates: Saturday, 19th April | 2.30pm; Sunday, 27th April | 9.30am; Friday, 2nd May; Saturday, 10th May| 2.30pm

• Ways to participate: by minibus, electric boat or on foot
• Length of the walking routes: about 300m. 
• Difficulty easy.

The itinerary leads participants through some of the most representative places of the history, culture and nature of the people from Ravenna: it includes a visit to the Garibaldi Hut, the transfer to the embarkation point in Bassa del Prete, a boat trip through Pialassa Baiona towards the Spinaroni Islet that was the headquarters of “Terzo Lori” partisan detachment. At the end of the tour, wine and ciambella will be served to all participants.

ITINERARY 4 – ‘Tesori da conservare’ 
(Ramazzotti Pinewood – Coastal Dunes – Mouth of Bevano River – “Cubo Magico Bevanella” Visitor centre)
Dates: Sunday 6th April; Sunday, 20th April (Easter) | 9.30am; Thursday, 1st May | 2.30pm; Sunday, 11th May | 9.30am

• Ways to participate:  by minibus, electric boat or on foot. 
• Length of the walking routes:about 4 Km. 
• Difficultyeasy.

Itinerary 4 proposes a hike through the Ramazzotti Pinewood, that follows the path behind the dunes and heads for the mouth of Bevano river and then along Via della Sacca to the watchtower. The tour lets participants discover the fire-damaged pinewood and gain awareness of the importance of the right environmental management and preservation, as well as enjoy the unspoiled environment conditions of the mouth of Bevano river. On the watchtower in Via della Sacca, participants can observe the variety of bird species. Concluding the tour, an electric boat trip to the Visitor Centre “Cubo Magico Bevanella”, visit to the centre and aperitif at sunset.

Where and when
The shuttle bus leaves from the Ravenna train station, easy to reach both from the city centre and by public transport and stop at Pala De Andrè, easy to reach for those coming from the suburbs and need to leave their car in a car parking. All itineraries will last a half-day.
Maximum of 25 participants for each tour. Reservation required.

Guides
A professional guide will be available on the shuttle bus and during the tour. Original language tours on request.

Participation fee
Free for children up to 10 years. Rates: 10€ each for itinerary 1, 2 and 4; 15€ for itinerary 3.
