The history of Ravenna through its churches

Besides the Unesco monuments, there are many other religious buildings that are part of Ravenna history. Oftentimes, they are ancient churches, some of which restored or rebuilt over time.

The religious monuments are places of worship, and they not are expression of sacredness, but they tell about pilgrims, votes, saints and crusades.
