The fifth edition of Pazzi di Jazz is back in Ravenna: it is an initiative of major cultural, didactic and social interest that involves thousands of young people and families every year. The event is part of Ravenna Jazz.
On Monday, May 7th at 9pm, the Dante Alighieri Theatre is going to host a numerous ensemble of orchestra and choir with 250 students that will perform in a concert entitled I Got Rhythm, a tribute to the American composer and pianist George Gershwin, for the 120 years anniversary since its birth.
Participating artists: Orchestra Dei Giovani Middle School Don Minzoni; Percussion Orchestra with students of institute I.C. Darsena and other middle schools, Swing Kids Choir of primary schools Mordani in Ravenna and Iqbal Masih in Lido Adriano; Teen Voices Cappella Choir with the students of Liceo Artistico and other middle schools.
The entire group will be conducted by the maestro and composer Tommaso Vittorini, who will arrange famous pieces by Gershwin and by Ambrogio Sparagna, who will prepare the Percussion Orchestra and the Swing Kids Choir to perform some pieces belonging to the popular tradition, from Alien Dee to extra-jazz a cappella songs. Last but not least, the soloist trumpeter Paolo Fresu and the scholar Francesco Martinelli.
