Palazzo Rasponi delle Teste hosts from March 30th to April 25th a retrospective exhibition of Francesco Verlicchi, the undisputed 20th-century protagonist of the artistic scene of Ravenna, and of Romagna in general.
The exhibition can be considered a real 'anthology', which has been arranged right in the city where Verlicchi worked for many years. In 1960 he became a teacher at the Mosaic Art Institute in Ravenna indeed.
About forty artworks such as portraits, still lifes and landscapes dating back to the period between the 1930s and the 1990s are on display on this occasion, and among them are pieces that have never been exhibited before, moreover watercolours and sketches.
The exhibition is part of the cycle at Palazzo Rasponi entitled 'Novecento rivelato' (In Italian 'the unveiled Twentieth century) which focuses on the discovery of personalities and significant aspects of figurative art in Ravenna during the past century.
The exhibition is curated by Paolo Trioschi and Orlando Piraccini, with the support of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Ravenna and the support of the Cultural Heritage of the Emilia Romagna Region and of the Ravenna Province.
