Ravenna Festival • An Autumn Trilogy
Dante Alighieri Theatre - via Mariani, 2
Zeitraum der Veranstaltung: von 14.10.2016 bis 23.10.2016, except on 22.10.2016
Zeit: 8.30pm

Autumn Trilogy of Ravenna Festival is back this October, an event that abandoned the traditional summer boundary to land successfully in the autumn months.

The 2016 Trilogy will present a Danubian triptych that will pay tribute to the great civilisation that flourished while the Austro-Hungarian Empire was coming to its twilight, when Vienna and other cities of the Empire like Budapest played cradle to an extraordinary multicultural ferment. From October 14th to 23rd Alighieri Theatre will stage, exclusively for Italy, three productions from the main Hungarian theatres, that contribute to maintaining high the quality of a tradition that never experienced decline: Gräfin Mariza (Countess Maritza), Die Fledermaus (The Bat) e Die Lustige Witwe (The Merry Widow).

The journey along the Danube river, after three days of dazzling performances in the city centre, will end with the Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra, an orchestra of violins, violas, cellos, double basses, clarinets, and cimbalombs in the best Gypsy tradition, whose programme will alternate scores by famous composers such as Liszt, Bartók, Kodály, Brahms, Čajkovskij, and Strauss to traditional Hungarian and Gypsy music.
