Ravenna per Dante • 2019
Throughout the city
Zeitraum der Veranstaltung: von 25.08.2019 bis 01.12.2019
Exiled from Florence, Dante Alighieri found his “last refuge” in Ravenna, where he wrote part of Purgatorio and Paradiso, and where he died on 13th September 1321. The city of Ravenna represented his homeland, even if only for a relatively short period of time, and intends to honour his Poet with Ravenna per Dante.
A full programme of events, from the end of August until mid-November, including scientific meetings, exhibitions, performances and debates involving different fields of study. A real journey made of places, events, people, and encounters. Every year, a solemn celebration for the Poet is held on the second Sunday of September.
The programme is the result of the commitment of many different personalities, that together research and present the thousands of nuances of Dante's ever actual work. All events have been arranged following a chronological order.
