From Saturday 10 June to Sunday 2 July the FaroArte Art Gallery in Marina di Ravenna exhibits Natura: la carne del segno (Nature: the flesh of sign). This exhibition highlights artworks from Rosetta Berardi and Nanni Menetti, including a critical presentation of Renato Barilli. Coming from different paths, they present their convergent approach towards Art which is characterised by the seek of essence which is embodied by the sign, symbol of purity.
The exhibition is carried out by Capit, with the collaboration of Pro Loco di Marina di Ravenna, the support of Municipality of Ravenna and of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna.
Rosetta Berardi (birth name Rosetta Lavatura) is Sicilian by birth and Romagnol by adoption. From the end of the 70s, she has developped her artistic language stepwise thanks to the seek of the pleasure to use different materials. She features several solo exhibits in Italy and abroad and her artworks are present in public and private collections.
Nanni Menetti (birth name Luciano Nanni) was born in Monzuno (Bologna) and was a Professor of Esthetics and Semiotics of Art at the University of Bologna. Working until the 60s both in terms of poetry and visual art, from 1982 onwards he signed his entire production under the name of Nanni Menetti (Menetti is his mother's maiden name). The materials of his artworks are relevant to the writing practice: blotting paper, carbon sheet and so on.
