Zeitraum der Veranstaltung: von 08.09.2018 bis 28.10.2018
Zeit: 10am - 12pm (Tuesday to Friday); 10am - 6pm (Saturday and Sunday)
On the occasion of the plenty of initiatives organised in Dante's honour, from 8th September to 28th October, the Classense Library hosts the exhibition L’ultimo Dante e il cenacolo ravennate. An exhibition of documents from the Ravenna, Bologna, Pisa and Venice Archives.
This vast exhibition tells about the chapter of Dante Alighieri in Ravenna, in particular about that "cenacolo" (Cenacle) created around the Poet, made by the professional élite of Ravenna and Bologna. Doctors, notaries, poets and philosophers: members of the most influential families and noble clans in Ravenna during that time, who met Dante.
The exhibition is based on important archival and iconographic testimonies, oftentimes unreleased or unknown to the public, and it guides the visitors through the Ravenna of the Fourteenth century, to discover the city planning of that time and Dante’s places, offering an important proof of the relationship between the Poet and the city that gave him his "last refuge".
The exhibition is organized by Gabriella Albanese and Paolo Pòntari, professor of Latin, medieval and humanistic Philology and Literature of the University of Pisa. Moreover, it was realised with the support of the Emilia Romagna regional Centre for Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and with the collaboration between the Classense Library and Società Dantesca Italiana.
