Inauguration: Friday, 21 June at 6pm
The Classense Library will celebrate nature through the exhibition Ascoltare Bellezza curated by Paolo Trioschi, displaying, again this year, artworks by four important contemporary painters, one for each season.
With the summer solstice on 21 June, the cycle gets even more attractive, hosting the exhibition "Vogliamo Tutto" dedicated to Nanni Balestrini, wanted by friends and the closest people as a homage and farewell after his demise on 19 May of last year.
The room Sala del Mosaico will host the big canvas “Anni '70, Anni '80”, one of the most important works by Balestrini, the emblem of his poetic research. The exhibition takes the name from his namesake cult book (1971), which inspired generations with the story of worker Alfonso, the marriage of human illusions and the undisputed power of media representation.
Nanni Balestrini, born in Milan in 1935, writer, poet, visual artist, since the very first 60es was at the centre of the national cultural movements: he was one of the souls of the neo-avantgardistic season, he was part of the so-called "Novissimi" poets and took part in "Gruppo 63". This artist achieved an extraordinary career in the visual arts' field, with many exhibitions, one of which was the Biennial in Venice in 1993. His last exhibition "Vogliamo tutto" (as the namesake novel of 1971) took place at the Duchy Palace in Massa in 2018, where also a collection of poetry was presented. He passed away in Rome after a brief period of sickness on 20 May 2019.
