Ravenna, the city where art meets the sea, is world-renowned for its hospitality. Since ancient times, it has welcomed illustrious figures such as Dante, Lord Byron, and Hermann Hesse. Nowadays, the variety of accommodation facilities of the city centre and of the suburbs can meet all requirements, e.g. spacious modern hotels, impressive historical residences or B&Bs.
The restaurants of the city serve traditional cuisine of the region, prepared with typical valley and sea products. The most typical dishes are “cappelletti” with cheese stuffing, “Passatelli” in broth (another kind of pasta), a mixed grill of meat, “rustide di pesce” (grilled fish) and frogs and eels for curious eaters. Ravenna nightlife offers some classy bars and pubs for entertaining evenings of good food and events.
