Between August and September, for the seventh year in a row, the ScrittuRa Festival, the festival of literature and reading organized and managed by Matteo Cavezzali will take place again.

It's a busy schedule of meetings with Italian writers and authors who will meet, in full respect of the social distancing measures, the public in the cities of Ravenna, Lugo, Fusignano and Bagnacavallo, to talk about books and stories.

Thursday 27 August

I racconti delle donne with ANNALENA BENINI

Time: 9pm
What do women think? What do they believe in? How many victories, defeats, hopes, secrets do they hide? How much rage and fun? cosa pensano le donne, a che cosa credono, quante vittorie, sconfitte, speranze e segreti hanno dentro di sé? Quanta rabbia e quanto divertimento? From The Waltz by Dorothy Parker to the Envy by Kathryn Chetkovich towards her boyfriend Jonathan Franzen, from Alice Munro remembering the betrayal to the well into which fall the women of Natalia Ginzburg, up to the vertigo of Sappho's suicide according to Marguerite Yourcenar, from Virginia Woolf to Clarice Lispector.

The history of crime novels through 50 detectives with LUCA CROVI

Time: 9pm
What is it that makes crime novels so fascinating? What is the charm of an unsolved case? Luca Crovi analyzes the most flawless investigators of the thriller's universe, presenting the characters that influenced most crime novel history. Luca Crovi, who met and interviewed a number of thriller and horror stories' masters, has gathered in these pages their accounts, creating a striking map.

La sconfitta dell'Occidente told by DOMENICO QUIRICO

The myth of the West, cultural lighthouse from the ancient Greece to the US, seems to have passed his peak. All those certainties that marked the fortune of our societies have shrinked, fallen into pieces; those infinite promises sealed with suberb expressions, such as globalization and liberal societies, have disappeared, devoured by a number of failures and retreats. Introduced by Matteo Cavezzali.

The master of noir and writer of the cult series 'Blu Notte' talks about the noir genre through his character, the chief of police De Luca.

American Gothic with ARIANNA FARINELLI

In the belly of the big whale, New York, the rage, the pride, the love of Yunus and Bruna shine like the lantern of a forgotten prophet. This book is the story of a family, its secrets, the challenges they have to face and also a plea to us all.
Arianna Farinelli was born in Rome in 1975. She has been living in the US since 2001. In 2009 she earned the PhD in Political Sciences and she has been teaching since 2010 at the Baruch College della City University of New York. Presented by Matteo Cavezzali and Stefano Bon

Lessons of happiness of the ancien Greek philosophy told by ILARIA GASPARI

What would happen if all of a sudden we decided to get to know ourselves with the methods of the ancient Greeks? And to do so, if we chose Pythagoras and Parmenides, Epictetus and Pyrrho, Epicurus and Diogenes? We could find out that the lessons and schools of ancient Greece have never closed: an exercise of practical philosophy will teach us how to feel the masters of 'seize the day'.
