Dante2021 • 7th edition
Old Franciscan Cloisters - via Dante Alighieri, 4/6
Basilica San Francesco - Piazza San Francesco, 1
Dates: from 13/09/2017 to 17/09/2017

Dante2021, the only festival dedicated to the father of the Italian language, comes to its 7th edition and offers a full calendar of events towards the 7th centenary of Dante Alighieri's death.

This year's edition of the Festival is inspired by the verse from the Comedy: «the long study and the ardent love» (Inferno I, v. 83), a fragment that evocates immediately this first meeting between the traveller Dante and his guide Virgil, cornerstone from which the savant and spiralling architecture of the poem blooms.

A diverse programme of events will take place from September 13th to 17th, with a special preview in the previous week: readings of Dante's works with the title Dante Hors d’Oeuvre (D.H.O.).

Promoted by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna with the scientific direction of Accademia della Crusca di Firenze.
