Guided tours in Ravenna - Summer 2012

Ravenna welcomes all tourists in summer, offering various guided visits to the city's art treasures (also at night) and discovering nature along the coast, in the historic pinewoods, in the Park of the Po Delta.

PROGRAMME

• Tour with the electric minibus in the park of the Po Delta: From the sea and from the city to Comacchio valleys
Date: June, July and August
Departures from Ravenna and other places of country and coast.
It’s possible get to the Southern Valleys of Comacchio starting from the sea and from Ravenna, where all year round you can observe flamingos and numerous other bird species. The itinerary is enriched by visits to the NatuRa Museum. (Duration: 3 hours)
Participation fee: 12 € full ticket, 10 € reduced ticket, free ticket for preschoolers

• Guidathe Tour
Date: By mid-June every Friday evening
Meeting point: Caffè Letterario Strada Facendo - viale Farini, 5 Ravenna
Guided Exploration of the Ravenna territory with professional guide, tasting of an infusion, the bibliography on the subject. Any inputs are borne by the participants.
Tours are sponsored by the Italian Touring Club: 5. cost euro (free up to 12 years)

• Mosaico di Notte 2012
Date: 29 June - 11 September
Meeting point: 8.45pm at IAT- via Salara 8/12 Ravenna
Every Tuesday and Friday (except Tuesday 10 July and Friday 31 August) from 9.00pm to 11.00pm it’s possible to visit the Domus of Tappeti di Pietra, the Basilica of San Vitale, the mausoleum of Galla Placidia and TAMO. The whole adventure of mosaic at Complex of St. Nicolò.

• Escursioni sotto le stelle (Hiking under the stars)

• Dal Museo alla bottega (From Museum to workshops)
Date: 13 July - 17 August
MAR – TAMO – Various workshops of the historical center Ravenna
Every Friday there will be itineraries to discover the contemporary mosaic.
Visit to the collection of contemporary mosaic in the City Art Museum, TAMO. The whole adventure of mosaic at the complex of San Nicolò and in some of the workshops of the inner city. In collaboration with “CNA Ravenna” and Cultural Association “Ad Arte”

• Ravenna in volo (Ravenna from the sky)
Date: All summer
Departure from La Spreta airport, via Dismano Ravenna
Tourist flight on early Christian monuments and oasis and pinewoods of Ravenna, departing from La Spreta airport. An audio guide, meticulously created for passengers, will lead to the story and the photo or video footage more interesting
