GiovinBacco, Sangiovese in Festa is the major wine festival of Sangiovese and other typical regional wines of Romagna. For the second year in a row, the Festival is hitting Ravenna's city centre, after the great success of the previous edition.
On October 21, 22 and 23 the city centre turns into a stage of good wine and quality food made in Romagna. This year's edition will feature new places and new tastes for the audience offered by Tuttifrutti and Slow Food associations in partnership and with the support of Ravenna City Council.
During the three nights of the festival a free shuttle bus service will operate from the parking lots in Piazza Zaccagnini and Piazza Caduti per la Libertà with the following timetable: on Friday and Saturday from 8.30pm to 11pm; on Sunday from 6.30pm to 10pm. Scheduled stops in Via Sighinolfi and Via Marconi every 15 minutes.
Double chance to taste the wines of Romagna: Sangiovese, Albana and other wines both in Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Garibaldi.
MADRA, the Sunday Food Market of Ravenna will take place with an extra appointment on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October in via Gordini and via Corrado Ricci together with GiovinBacco.
Part of the Piazza will be devoted to wine, and part of it will be devoted to food with three restaurants representing the Chefs’ Slow Food Alliance: Osteria del Gran Fritto, Campanara and I Passatelli del Mariani.
Piazza XX Settembre
Stands with Ravenna, Rimini and Cesenatico's piadina - three different ways to prepare the one and only street food excellence of Romagna - and craft beer. On Saturday 21 October the Piazza will host the Romagna Gold Piadina Trophy. The trophy, at its 8th edition, is sponsored by CNA and Confartigianato Ravenna.
Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia
Slow Food stalls and Associazione Il Lavoro dei Contadini stalls with products, meetings, laboratories and tasting.
Food tasting stalls of quality street food: Osteria L’Acciuga, Casa di Mare Restaurant, Casa Spadoni, PerTe Catering and Borgo dei Guidi.
Piazza San Francesco
Patisserie Pasticceria Palumbo with its stall offers panelle, arancini and other traditional Sicilian products.
Thanks to the cooperation of Ravenna Festival and its Autumn Trilogy with GiovinBacco Festival, gypsy musicians will play with the Banda Musicale Cittadina di Ravenna, Banda Città di Russi and Canterini Romagnoli di Ravenna, bringing the gypsy music and arie of the operette in the squares and streets of Ravenna city centre.
