In its 30th year of activity, SICIS participates for the first time to RavennaMosaico, the Biennial Festival of Contemporary Mosaic at its 5th edition, with SICIS - Destinazione Mosaico, a remarkable exhibition set in the spaces of the 17th-century noble mansion Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste.
The company has always been exploring the ancient art of mosaic, enhancing flexibility and variability. From Ravenna (Sicis' starting point) and its well-established art tradition, it expanded internationally thanks to its creativity and technological innovation, the company's strong points. Sicis' artworks now embellish and enrich public spaces worldwide.
The exhibition is a pleasant occasion to understand the complex reality surrounding the world of mosaic through videos, screenings and particular images. An itinerary where matter, technique, creativity and the skills of mosaic masters come into play in a virtual simulation. An immersive exhibition with digital frescoes that trace back the main collections realised by Sicis' masters with portraits, icons, faces and patterns.
A composition of screens create a digital tour of the production of the company from the origins to the present days. Rooms with magic mirrors will present the work material. Zenithal projections will show the mosaic masters. The exhibition devotes space also to tradition with an excursus on the ancient history of mosaic art up to Sicis' great works inspired to classical artworks, and to micro-mosaic with the jewellery masterpieces by Sicis Jewels.
It's an itinerary that wants to be a special opportunity to enter the world of Sicis, a company that transformed mosaic into a communication tool able to express trends and stimulate new markets with its products, completely made in Italy.
