From 4th to 18th March, Palazzo Rasponi2 will host the exhibition Heimat by Chiara Pavolucci. It is the first of a series of exhibitions dedicated to the winners of PR2 Camera Work, the contest dedicated to the photographers under-35 from the Municipality of Ravenna, organised in collaboration with the University of Bologna (Ravenna Campus). The theme of this edition is “Quaderni di viaggio. Storie di percorsi, cammini, itinerari metaforici” - literally - travel diaries, stories of trails, paths and metaphorical itineraries.
“Heimat” is an intimate and personal life story, a reflection on the city of Berlin, where the photographer lived for years. The German word “Heimat” can be translated as "home", "homeland", "birthplace", and it indicates the place where you feel home right because you were born and grew up there. After she came back to the place she has always called "home", the photographer questions herself about the meaning of this word.
