The show Inferno taken from the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri was performed on the stage of the Luigi Rasi Theatre and in other spots of the city of Ravenna last year, from 25th May to 3rd July.
The performance, curated by Marco Martinelli and Ermanna Montanari, saw the participation of more than 700 ordinary citizens, who answered to a public call becoming the actors of this project. They alternated each other on the stage performing no less than 34 encore performances, guided by the actors of Teatro dell Albe, and made all this possible.
The images of the exhibition Non è stata fatica vana are not a precise description of this performance, but are rather the point of view of the photographer Mauro Bosi, a citizen of Ravenna who answered to the public call like many other and who felt so involved in the project that he started to take photos and to capture the intensity of those moments. The exhibition is a homage to the community that grew around this performance and that extraordinary sharing and staying together that sometimes succeeds in becoming real theatre, and, finally, to the city itself, which welcomed and praised him in a touching and memorable way
