The "recalls" between the mosaics of Ravenna and the masterpiece by Dante Alighieri are several and well-recorded: scholars claim that Paradiso was entirely written in Ravenna, in a period during which the churches were for the most part decorated with mosaic.
The exhibition La Bellezza ch'io vidi inside the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo underlines the deep relationship between the verses of the Divine Comedy and the art of Ravenna, paying homage to the Supreme Poet for his 7th century anniversary since his death.
This project was conceived by some students of Ravenna, with the help of Dante in Rete.
