Marina di Ravenna is the oldest tourist seaside resort on the Ravenna coast, founded in the 1930s. Today, it is a lively and trendy town with lots of beach clubs, beach resorts and well-organized hotels run by experienced managers. In the summer, it turns into a popular tourist destination for families and young people. Immersed in a luxuriant pinewood, the small town is also appreciated for its restaurants serving traditional fish specialities.
Marina di Ravenna hosts the tourist harbour of Ravenna, Marinara, that offers approximately 1500 berths for boats up to 30m and is protected by two 2.8 km-long breakwaters ensuring its practicability in all weather conditions. This makes of Marina di Ravenna a renowned destination for regattas, taking place all year round.
At about 12 miles off the coast there is an important area for wildlife protection and restocking called Paguro, developed on the wreck of a drilling platform and now populated by rare animal and plant species. This reserve is a must for divers and researchers and is closely related to the unique National Museum of Underwater Activities, currently the first and only museum of this kind in Italy.
