From the first days of September until November a full calendar of guided tours to explore the beauty of Ravenna, its monuments and history.

Advance reservations are required for every guided tour. Confirmation of the guided tour is subject to a minimum number of participants and to availability.


Calendar
Every Sunday in September, October and NovemberGuided Tour to the Unesco sites of the Diocese
Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo, Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, Basilica of San Vitale
Meeting and payment point: IAT Ravenna - Piazza San Francesco, 7
Time: 10.30am (please show up 15 minutes earlier)
Duration: about 2h

A guided tour to discover some of Ravenna's most representative mosaics: the imperial couple Justinian and Theodora and their courts in San Vitale; the cobalt blue starry sky in Galla Placidia; the procession of the Saints and of the Virgins in Sant'Apollinare Nuovo.

Price: 6€ per person; free for children until 10 years; 18€ family ticket (2 adults + 2 children age 11-17). The price of the guided tour does not include the admission to the monuments, which is guaranteed by a combined ticket*. The ticket is valid for 7 days and gives also access to the Neonian Baptistery and the Archiepiscopal Chapel and Museum.
* Combined ticket to be bought at Tourist Information Office (IAT): concession for all participants 8,50€, free for kids until 10 years and Ravenna residents with ID card. 


Saturday, October 8 SPECIAL TOUR for NOTTE D'ORO
Guided tour “Ravenna svelata" (Ravenna unveiled)
Ravenna city centre

Time: 5.30pm (please show up 15 minutes earlier)
Length: about 2h

An unusual guided tour in the city centre to discover a partly hidden, partly forgotten side of Ravenna. Its intrigues, the struggle for power, violent figures but also poetry, eternal love stories, never-forgotten dames will be unveiled in a magic golden night.

Price: 6€ per person; free for children until 10 years, 18€ family ticket (2 adults + 2 children age 11-17).


From Friday, October 28 to Tuesday, November 1SPECIAL TOUR for HALLOWEEN
Guided tour “Passeggiate tra mistero e delitto” (A walk between mystery and murder)
Ravenna city centre
Meeting and payment point: IAT Ravenna - Piazza San Francesco, 7
Time: 7pm and 9pm (please always show up 15 minutes earlier). Max. number of participants: 25. If reservations outnumber availability, a further visit will be organised at 10pm.
Length: about 2h

Guided tours to discover the mysterious side of Ravenna in its hidden symbols and murders, from ancient times up to the present days.

Price: 6€ per person; free for children until 10 years; 18€ family ticket (2 adults + 2 children age 11-17); free for people accomodating in Ravenna and surroundings (reservation is possible also via hotel's reception).


From Saturday, October 29 to Tuesday, November 1Guided Tour to the Unesco sites of the Diocese

Wednesday, November 2Scopri Ravenna (Discover Ravenna)

Time: 10.30am (please show up 15 minutes earlier)
Length: about 2h

The tour will lead through the following monuments: places of Dante starting with the Old Franciscan Cloisters, then the ancient oratory Quadrarco di Braccioforte and Dante's Tomb, where the remains of the Supreme Poet are preserved and where a eighteenth century votive lamp burns perpetually, fueled by Tuscan olive oil which is donated by Florence every year on September 14th (anniversary of the death of the Poet); the Basilica of San Francesco, were the last funeral rites of Dante Alighieri were held in 1321, characterised by a crypt invaded by water; the pulsing heart of the city Piazza del Popolo; the Arian Baptistery built at the end of V Century and Unesco World Heritage Site since 1997.

Price: 6€ per person; free for children until 10 years; 18€ family ticket (2 adults + 2 children age 11-17). The price of the guided tour does not include the admission to the Arian Baptistery: 1€; concession 0,50€.
